Organized by the Alpine Club, the Alpine Ski Club and the Eagle Ski Club, the conference has the theme of “More Adventure, Less Impact”. With a raft of great speakers and a headline presentation by Steve Venables, it promises to be a fascinating weekend. I’ll be talking about the latest thinking in avalanche awareness (remember – rescue helicopters are not very environmentally friendly), and other speakers will cover everything from the latest technology in ski kit through to how to organize your own tour.
On the Sunday there will be practical sessions on a great array of subjects – transceivers, GPS, ski maintenance and so on.
