The alpine summer has kicked off to a great start, with conditions being superb for snow and ice earlier this week.

Thanks to all of you for making winter such a success. The summer is now booking up fast.

The snow cover in the Alps is the best for many years at this stage of the season.

Another fantastic Kendal Mountain Festival just completed: a marathon 4 days, 300 screenings of over 80 films, lecturers like Messner, Breashears, Lecluse and Kirkpatrick, and a record 6000 pints of beer consumed over the weekend.
