Thanks, Andy, for an excellent course. A good mix of skiing, touring and technical skills. I found the rope work - crevasse rescue, short roping skills and moving roped on a glacier, and the tips on improving skiing form particularly helpful. Micro-navigation, avalanche awareness, route finding travelling up and down slopes, and tips on how to find good snow were all covered and taylored to the differing needs of the group. The emphasis on the decision making process meant that, I for one, felt involved and engaged throughout, and when decisions needed to be made quickly, these were always fully explained afterwards. Full marks!!!! Catherine

Hi Andy, Thanks for running the course !
Col des Autanes was a particular highlight with something of everything from crampon ascents to fresh tracks on descent. I've also got a couple of new techniques to take back to rescues in the UK. You might also be pleased to know I've got a new transceiver.

Hi Catherine and Paul
Thanks for your comments. It's always great to have good skiers who are keen to learn more. Hopefully I'll see you on the hill in the future, whether that's with me or running your own tours.
All the best, and see you in Chamonix or at the Eagles Leader's Meet or at the Kendal Mountain Festival.

Bit of a belated comment I'm afraid, but I'd like to echo what Catherine and Paul have said - really useful course, with good mix of practising technical skills and actual touring, where opportunities to pick up on technical matters were taken whenever appropriate situations arose.
