Career and mountaineering ambitions seldom fit comfortably together. Their struggle for our hearts and minds usually means that for those who are fortunate enough to have jobs, the life journey via financial security usually wins and all consuming passions for mountains are compromised in their truest fulfilment and expression.

British climbers Andy Perkins and Neil McNab exemplified the true spirit of mountaineering by volunteering to assist the NPS in two hazardous rescues high on Mt. McKinley in May 2004, resulting in at least one life saved. They assisted in these rescues at tremendous risk to themselves and with the distinct possibility of losing their chance of a summit attempt.

An account of one of the best non-routes in the Himalaya, a 17 day capsule ascent of the North West Face of Cerro Kishtwar by Andy Perkins and Brendan Murphy.

The expedition was supported by the British Mountaineering Council and the Mount Everest Foundation and is dedicated to the memories of Steve Hillen and Mirek Lasotha.
