Welcome, I am Andy Perkins, a mountain guide based in Chamonix.

From a base in the Chamonix valley looking directly towards Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe, I offer guiding services in all mountain activities.

These include off-piste skiing, ski touring and ice climbing in the winter season, and alpine mountaineering in the summer. I also offer rock climbing, big wall climbing and expeditions to remote areas, film safety work and instruction in rope access and rescue techniques.

Living in Chamonix with its huge skiing and mountaineering potential, much of my guiding is based here in the valley. Regular visitors to the webcam image from my balcony looking at the Aiguille du Midi will be pleased to know that it's enjoying its holiday at the repair shop in California, and will be back on line for the winter! I operate frequently in other parts of the Alps, such as Tignes/Val d’Isere, Zermatt and Saas Fee. Outside the Alps, I climb in Scotland in winter and have a wealth of expedition experience in Patagonia, Arctic Norway and the Himalaya.

I hold the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA) carnet, the legal requirement to guide on glacial terrain in the European Alps. I am a member of both the British Mountain Guides and its French equivalent, the Syndicat National des Guides de Montagne.

Having gained so much from over 20 years of skiing and mountaineering, I get huge satisfaction from passing that experience on to others. Whatever your ambitions in the mountains, it's my mission and pleasure to help turn your dreams into reality.
