Summer Chamonix-Zermatt Haute Route
There are many different ways of going from Chamonix to Zermatt. Here’s just one of the variations I’ve done in the past. This one has a couple of nights in valley hotels to get a shower(!) en route. Although it’s feasible in a week, I would recommend allowing at least 8 days. If you have 2 weeks available, you’ll then have a few days left at the end, and many people then like to try Mont Blanc as they are well acclimatised after a Haute Route.
I can walk this route with up to 6 people in the group, making it all very sociable! Please Contact Me for availability.

Day 1: Le Tour to the Albert Premier hut, a short day with plenty of time in the morning to sort kit before leaving.
Day 2: Over the Col Superieur du Tour and all the way down to Champex, stopping at the Trient hut for a brew.
Day 3: Taxi from Champex to Mauvoisin just to the south of Verbier, then a lovely walk in Lake District type scenery to the Chanrion hut.
Day 4: Back north over the Col de Chermotane to the Dix hut, one of the best huts in the Alps
Day 5: A short day, especially suitable in bad weather, over the ladders of the Pas de Chevre and down to Arolla to the quaint Hotel Mont Collon.
Day 6: A long up day to the Bertol hut, perched on a rocky pinnacle at over 3000m.
Day 7: The key day, over the Tete Blanche and down the Stockjigletscher to the Schonebiel hut
Day 8: A gentle stroll down admiring the North face of the Matterhorn to the right, arriving in Zermatt in time for lunch, and then a taxi back to Chamonix!
