Ten Day Haute Route 2009
I've always believed that the best way to do the Chamonix Zermatt Haute Route is to start mid week and allow ten days
Thsi way, you avoid the crowds of people both in huts and en route who start at the weekend. In addition, if there's any bad weather, you have 3 days in reserve. And if all goes well and you get to zermatt with days to spare, there's loads of other ski objectives to go at, or the possibility of an extension to Saas or beyond.
This trip in 2009 vindicated me and the team from the Eagle Ski Club very effectively!
