Along with Neil MacNab, I have just received a Citizens Award for Bravery from the US Dept of the Interior.
This is the highest award for bravery available to non-military personnel in the USA, so it's a great honour for Neil and me to receive it.
This goes back to May 2004, when Neil and I were instrumental in the rescue of a Korean climber from high on Denali, along with a team of 3 rangers from the National Park Service. In brief, he had fallen a considerable way and had then laid out in the open for about 24 hours before Neil and I found him, barely conscious, in the mist above Denali Pass.
