A fantastic week of ski touring, but with a lot more added by Andy (& aspirant guide Tim Blakemore).
Things like getting us to work as a team in the most realistic transceiver test I have ever encountered; and showing us some basic techniques for crevasse rescue (AND getting us all to enjoy trying these at one of the maintain huttes) - for me (with limited experience) these added enormously to the week. Andy gauged what was needed by the group to build for the future as well as giving us a really exciting weeks skiiing.

Also Andy takes really flattering photographs of his clients, which I am unjustifiably proud of.

Hi David

You should be justifiably proud of your skiing in those photos. If it looks good then it is good! Thanks for your compliments, and I hope to see you on a tour next year.

This was my first ski tour and I really enjoyed it. Andy and Tim provided expert and professional guiding, and the rest of the party were also fun, relaxed and good to spend the week with. I learnt a lot from Andy, and the food and accommodation in the huts was superb. I can certainly recommend the Silvretta Tour.

Hi Andy,

A BIG and very, very belated thanks to you, Tim and the rest of the group for a wonderful week away from the crowds at Easter in the Silvretta.

Your enthusiasm for teaching us how to choose routes on slopes, skinning, and mountain related skills such as transceiver practise, knots and getting us to practise crevasse self-rescue off of the end of the hut terrace still has me chuckling now. The snow was good too even if the daily mantra from one member of the group was .... 'the slope of certain death...' I've never experienced such large snow bowls with far too much choice of where to turn! Mountain huts have certainly improved over the last few years too - hot water! salad! boot warmers! chocolate! large slabs of strudel!

I was starting to loose interest in skiing as I was fed up with the crowds but you have opened up a whole new world. Ski-touring in the mountains for me is a meditation on skis - sorry, but i still prefer going up than down! ;0) Talking of going up - the rock climbing this year has been fab too!

2010 probably sees me in Norway. Good luck for the coming season.
Hope you've had a fun summer!
Catherine
