Andy, you are a star! Your patience and understanding last week made all the difference, particularly when dealing with a frostbitten croc like me! The Hornli ridge was all I expected it to be, and the Breona on Friday was wonderful. The VF in Evolene made me puff!!!

I'm still learning after years in the hills and you have pushed me further along that pathway again.

Have a great season and I hope to bump into you at Kendal.

Thanks

Nigel

Nigel - my patience and understanding are nothing compared to your determination and drive. It was a fine effort with a well deserved reward.

All the best, and I'm sure our paths will be crossing in the hills in the future.

Anyone reading this post who isn't sure what we're talking about should check out http://www.into-thin-air.co.uk/ and in particular check out the Frostbite File to see what Nigel has fought back from. Gripping the fixed ropes when you've only half your fingers requires more than it does from the average Matterhorn climber.

Nigel is an eloquent yet down-to-earth speaker on mountaineering and his motivation for getting involved in it. We're hoping he can make a slot or two to introduce films or lecturers at Kendal Mountain Festival this year.
