Katherine Chan	Tuesday 22 July 2008 7:17:38 pm My 15 year old son, Max, and I spent 9 days around Chamonix in late June. Very poor weather made for extremely challenging conditions at altitudes above 3000 meters for several days in the middle of our stay. Andy Perkins, drawing on his long experience and extensive knowledge of the area, suggested a series of diverse and scenic climbs. We summitted Aiguille du Tour and Weissmies, hiked the Alpine gorge in Saas Fee and the Jagihorn Via Ferratas. After a light descent on a rainy day, we spent the afternoon at the Mont-blanc escalade indoor gym in Les Houches, climbing and watching world renowned climbers. Andy was extremely attentive, but never indulging or overbearing. His atention to detail and to our safety made for an extraordinary alpine experience for Max and I!
